Pastor Talley's life was transformed when he committed his life to Christ. Church became an integral part of that transformation. Pastor Talley found refuge in the church. His first church experience was the result of bus ministry.
Pastor was born in Florida, but he grew up in Vonore, TN. He began attending the Church of God at age 15 and became heavily involved in it's youth ministry. After graduating from high school, Pastor attended Lee University. During his sophomore year at Lee, he was asked to serve as the youth pastor of his home church in Maryville, TN. The plan and path that God had chosen for Pastor began unfolding. Education has been an important element in Pastor's life. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lee University.
While doing ministry, Pastor Talley served as a program counselor and child and adolescent specialist at psychiatric hospitals in Chattanooga and Knoxville. In 2006, Pastor graduated from the Church of God Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree with concentration in family and marriage therapy. Pastor served for over twelve years as an associate and youth pastor in Churches of God in Maryville, Gainesville, Chattanooga, and Sevierville.
He is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God and currently serves on the Tennessee State Youth Board. Pastor Talley was appointed pastor of Graysville Church of God in May 2002 with around 80 in attendance. Our church now runs a steady 350 in attendance. Engaging in ministry to others is an emphasis of ministry in our church. Pastor feels that the church must respond to the spiritual orphans of our community. Our Wednesday night outreach program is really the heart of our pastor. Hundreds of young people have been reached through our food and transportation ministry.
Lives continue to be transformed as our ministries continue to flourish. Pastor is most proud of his family. His wife, Renee, is the love of his life. Team ministry has always been their approach to kingdom work. Their passion for Christ is a shared one. Renee leads the worship ministry at the church and is a seventh grade teacher at Meigs Middle School.
The Talleys have two children. Hannah is eleven and loves playing basketball, singing, and art. Noah is four, and he loves music, particularly worship music, and is working hard at becoming a drummer.
